Data Analyst Internship at RTI International


RTI International seeks a prospect for the Data Analyst Internship within the International Development Group (IDG).

This internship is a contract position. The employment contract is administered by Greene Resources Powered by Array, RTI’s supplemental staffing partner.

The IDG Pricing and Analytics team works to support RTI’s international development group through market research, data gathering and mining and competitive intelligence to improve business development efforts in winning new work, primarily for our top client USAID.

IDG is seeking a Financial Operations and Business Intelligence candidate for a summer internship. A successful candidate will be business-minded with quantitative and analytical skills.

The position will span a range of operational and analytic responsibilities across IDG including supporting financial analyses related to topline business metrics (revenue, earnings, expense, etc), and leveraging a combination of analytics, business intelligence tools (likePowerBI), and communication skills to support the overall financial success of IDG.

As a Business Intelligence Intern at RTI, you will gain exposure to strategic and operational elements involved in managing a world-class research organization dedicated to improving the human condition.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the ins and outs of the USAID proposal space including client priorities, needs and trends.

  • Gain a better understanding of competitive analysis and market intelligence applicable in and outside of the international development space.

Gain an understanding of the international development space, major players, trends and the impact it has globally.

Responsibilities

  • Support a developing data and business intelligence strategy, focusing on competitive intelligence data from interviews and desk research
  • Analyze/consolidate large datasets of historical data and identify actionable insights to inform improvements to budgeting, forecasting, and project financial risk monitoring processes
  • Analyze current business performance based on competition across win/loss. Present findings via presentations and compiled reports
  • Become familiar with financial processes and suggest opportunities for automation and process improvement with cross-functional teams.

Additional Information


This virtual paid internship will take place from May 2024 through August 2024. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

  • Rising Junior or Senior working towards a degree in analytics, finance, international development or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
