Job Purpose

The job holder is responsible for managing the Inventory, Supplier Invoices and payments in a high-volume environment and in line with the Company Policies & Procedures. The jobholder is responsible for planning and implementing process improvements to improve efficiency and strengthen controls, and provide guidance to create a high performing team.


Key Accountabilities:

Manage and monitor the Accounts Payable and Inventory operations ensuring accuracy and timeliness of processes and reporting.

Lead the team and ensure that they are managed through clear goals, development plans and create a culture of openness, respect based on EKFC values.

Drive optimization of processes and leverage systems to ensure accuracy of information and efficiency.

Develop and improve AP and Inventory accounting processes to create a more streamlined approach.

Cross-functional collaboration with other parts of the Finance function to ensure business needs are effectively met.

Be familiar with, and ensure compliance with, all revenue contracts.

Strategize for the optimization of the supplier payment process for efficient Working Capital Management and maximization of early payment discounts

Monitor the Stock movements to ensure accurate reporting of inventory in the various stocking points, and report on areas for improvement

Ensure a compliant environment is being maintained through proper reviews, segregations of duties, and delegation of authority.

Analyze the impact of changes in applicable Accounting and Reporting standards and provide timely advice to the senior management on implementation and transition strategy. Manage the implementation of these new processes in a seamless manner.

Benchmark and introduce best practice that will contribute towards providing a best in class functional service.

Guide, motivate and develop team members in the optimization of their personal potential, so that the departmental and thus the business objectives are met and / or exceed. Set SMART objectives for the team and provide regular and objective feedback on the performance.

Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies for accounts payable functions to reduce manual intervention and process time and to ensure adherence to company guidelines

Fully responsible for preparation and management of Project budgets, periodical updates and forecasts for monitoring control

Maintain and develop positive internal and external client relationships through effective communication and dialogue.

Education Qualification:

Qualified professional Accountant with a qualification of ACA/CPA/CIMA preferred.

Substantial experience in in JD Edwards or a similar ERP system.

Work Experience:

10 years’ progressive experience

Demonstrated experience in a Senior Finance Management role.

Demonstrated ability to manage staff using a structured management framework to link corporate objectives and individual performance.

Self-motivated individual with ability to prioritize and multitask in a very fast paced and quickly-growing environment

Must possess mental agility to be able to diagnose and troubleshoot problems is a fast-paced, dynamic environment;

Demonstrated abilities in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks with minimal direction;

Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and sound judgment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

“Roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude and get involved at a detailed level

Highly competent with MS Excel and other MS Office Applications
